Terms of Service

By using LoongClan (龙族) websites, games and APIs, you agree to these terms. They are intentionally short, because our apps are intentionally simple.

1. The service

LoongClan provides offline-first cultural games and a free, optional cloud backup and leaderboard service. Games are fully playable without an account and without network access. The cloud features are a convenience, not a requirement.

2. Your passphrase is your responsibility

Your 3-part passphrase is the only key to your cloud data. We never receive it, so we cannot reset or recover it. If you lose it, your cloud snapshot becomes permanently inaccessible. Keep a safe backup.

Anyone who knows your passphrase can access your data. Choose something unguessable, and do not reuse a passphrase from another service.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• submit fraudulent scores, or automate submissions to manipulate leaderboards;
• attempt to access another user's data, or probe the service for vulnerabilities without permission;
• upload unlawful content, malware, or content that infringes others' rights;
• overload the service, or circumvent rate limits and other safeguards.

We may remove leaderboard entries, ban identifiers, or delete data that violates these terms. Bans apply to the UserHash; they do not reveal your identity to us.

4. Free service, no warranty

The service is provided "as is" and free of charge, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee uptime, data durability, or that snapshots will never be lost. Because your device holds the authoritative copy, you should not rely on the cloud as your only backup.

5. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LoongClan and its contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, arising from your use of the service.

6. Your content

You retain all rights to the data you upload. You grant us only the minimal permission needed to store and return it to you. We do not read, mine, or sell your payload. See the Privacy Policy for details.

7. Open source

The platform code is open source. You may self-host your own instance under the terms of the project's license — see github.com/allen2life/loongclan.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance. The "Last updated" date reflects the current version.
